The basis for the system is ISO 9001:2008, as this provides the tools for a logical and effective business management system. Although the benefits of the management system may be achieved without formal assessment by a Certification Body, the system can be, and usually is, implemented with Certification as a goal.
This platform may also be used as the basis for compliance with any other requirements, e.g. environmental or occupational health and safety management, food safety, FSC Chain of custody etc.
